There’s now a new Aldi Supermarket on the rear of the site of the former Booths store on Ball Street
The new Aldi store is a modern 1254 square metre supermarket built on the 1.47 acre rear site of the former Booths store, opened in late November 2016.
The rear of the old Booths building (below) which ran along the car park to the rear of the Ball Street shops was demolished.
It’s footprint is now the new car park, and the new Aldi store is built parallel to the railway line, where the former Ball Street car park was.
The existing facade and front half of the former Booths store which fronts onto Ball Street was retained, and a new retailer will be taking the premises in due course.
