Getting to Poulton-le-Fylde

It’s only a few miles from the north-west coastline, on the Fylde coastal plain. Poulton is quite near to Blackpool, Fleetwood and Cleveleys.

It’s an urban town with a population of about 18-20,000 people, and a popular place to live. There’s a compact but well served town centre, a good mix of housing and public facilities.

By car

Poulton is easily accessible from the main motorway network. It’s just off the main A585 link road from the M55 to the coast.

Depending on the time of day when you choose to travel, it’s about a 10-15 minute journey from the nearest coast at Bispham/Cleveleys. And about a 20-25 minute journey from Poulton to the M55 motorway at Greenhalgh/Wesham. This can be longer at peak times.

When you get here, there are plenty of public car parks in the town centre.

By bus

A number of buses service Poulton-le-Fylde, providing access to the nearby towns. Blackpool Transport is the main provider of bus services in Poulton and on the Fylde Coast. Other bus services are available.

By train

Poulton-le-Fylde also has its own local railway station, with good links both inland and to the coast. The address is Breck Road, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7AA. The station is open 7 days a week – 24 hours.

Leaving the station entrance, to your right the Civic Centre is a short walk. Head out of the station to your left, and within only 100 yards you’re in the main shopping area.

There’s parking for 20 cars with no charge to park, and a taxi rank opposite.
